Age 22. Senior in college. Living at home.
I know several friends of mine who are in the same boat as I am. And we all wonder the same thing:
What am I going to do with my life after graduation?? Where am I going to work and live? And what will I be doing for the rest of my life??
We've all asked ourselves these questions at some point and have often answered with an honest, "I have no idea." And that's okay. None of us have specific written instructions directing us to what is the next step in life. But that doesn't mean that we should live each day unplanned just wingin' it. We have to take advantage of each day to get closer to the dreams we aspire. We can't get distracted with our social lives and forget to plan ahead. Your time is valuable!!!
Don't waste it sitting in front of a computer watching your friends move on in the next step of life while you stay behind "liking" their success.
Get up, and move!!
Write down what it is you want to accomplish. If you have dreams to have a business of your own, then write it down!! Plan realistic ways to make that dream a reality. And live out those steps to reach that goal! Look at the great successes people in this world have accomplished.
Take the inspiring life of Walt Disney, for example. He came from a humble family who often did not have a lot of money. He relied on his gifted talent and love for drawing to make extra money. At a young age, he started a studio of his own, "Laugh-O-Gram." Unfortunately, the business fell bankrupt and eventually closed down. But that did not stop him from pursuing his dreams! He went on to Hollywood where his success grew greater than he could have ever imagined.
A lot of times, we let failure blur our vision of success. Don't look at failure as the very end. Instead, look at failure as a sign to take another route to your destination. If one way doesn't work, then try another way. And if that way doesn't work, try another. Imagine if Walt Disney would have given up on his dreams after his first business failed, then all that is of Disney would have never existed.
Hard work pays off!
This I can guarantee you, all these successful people didn't spend their weekends getting wasted. Why would you even want to be termed such a word? Life was not given to you to be wasted! It was given to you to be saved!
It really breaks my heart when I see people I know wasting their lives with drugs and alcohol. And they say, "You only live once." It's really sad that getting high and wasted is what this world calls "living." When the One who has given His all for you that you may have guaranteed victory says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life."
In Him is success and life.
Friend, you need to know that the dreams within you are very much possible.
My point in this post is to encourage YOU to believe in yourself!! A lot of times it's easy to believe in other people and encourage them to fulfill their goals, but it really takes faith to believe in yourself. You are destined for greatness!! You have been created to succeed! Just get up, and start working.
